Where Can I Go for Help?

I am afraid I will not be able to support my family.

  • With medical treatment, most people with epilepsy can continue to work. If you cannot work:
  • Talk to your doctor.
  • Contact your local Social Security office.
  • Contact your local Epilepsy Foundation.
  • States have different driving rules for people with epilepsy.
  • Check with your doctor or Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) for your state rules.
  • You can also visit the Epilepsy Foundation Web site to learn more: www.epilepsyfoundation.org.

If you feel all alone in treating your epilepsy:

  • Ask a family member or friend to join you for your next doctor visit.
  • Ask your doctor about a local epilepsy support group.
